The place
Revel is right behind Frederiksberg Allé metro on Frederiksberg Allé itself, which makes it one of the easiest good meals in the city to get to. It is a street-kitchen setup, unfussy and focused, pulling comfort dishes from across Asia and doing each one properly rather than spreading thin.
The dish everyone comes back for
It starts with steaming jasmine rice and a perfectly set soy egg. The soft pork belly gets doused in a tangy sauce until it reaches a flawless glaze, then it is plated with a little more of that sauce and bok choy underneath. Fall-apart pork belly, sweet and tangy, with the soy egg and rice underneath, and a hit of homemade chili for spice. This is the one people return for, and you will understand why on the first bite.
What else we ate
Noodles boiled fresh and tossed in toasted sesame sauce until every strand is coated, then plated with minced pork, pickled mustard greens, homemade chili oil and coriander, with that numbing Sichuan peppercorn kick. Crispy chicken karaage with a fresh cucumber salad, homemade chili mayo and teriyaki, dusted with chili powder, total comfort food. And the kimchi fried rice with beef, a fried egg, crushed peanuts and coriander, which you simply cannot go wrong with.

This is your reliable weeknight answer: fast, comforting and two minutes from the metro. Solo, a quick date or a casual dinner with a friend, it all works. Order the pork belly no matter what else you get.
