Lee’s Kitchen sits on Åboulevard near Forum station, and it has become a genuine regular for us. Fast, flavorful and full of personality, with good staff and a kitchen that clearly knows what it is doing. There is no pretension here, just proper Chinese comfort food done well.
Probably one of the best duck dishes in the city, the Ducking Good: tender duck sizzling away on a hot metal skillet with garlic sauce. Green beans stir-fried with pork and dried chilies, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of heat, a dish you have to try. Lee’s chicken, the signature fried chicken in a sweet and sour sauce, tangy, sweet and savory. Crispy chicken bites with a squeeze of lemon and a dip in hoisin chili sauce. Pan-fried chicken dumplings. Crispy, tender fried eggplant with a sour vinegar dip that is almost too good to share. And for a burst of freshness, the lotus root salad with wood ear mushrooms and cilantro.
Lee’s runs monthly specials too, anything from lychee pork to tofu and noodle dishes and dumplings, so there is always a reason to check their Instagram and go again. That rotation is a big part of why this one stays in our regular rotation.
