French, Italian, Spanish · Kødbyen

This kitchen in Copenhagen's Meatpacking District does not follow the rules. Camour took the best from Spain, France and Italy and put it all under one roof on Høkerboderne in Kødbyen. We were invited.

The place

Camour sits right in the middle of Kødbyen, where the Meatpacking District vibes hit hard, but the kitchen is doing something more ambitious than the address suggests. There is no single national cuisine here. They pull the best ideas from three countries and plate them family style, so the whole table eats together.

What we ate

The chef opens with a house favorite, the pulpo carpaccio: paper-thin octopus with tuna cream, capers, herbs and a fragrant lemon zest to finish. Then giant head-on prawns cooked in a roasted pepper butter, the kind of sauce you immediately want bread for. Speaking of bread, freshly baked and topped with stracciatella, roasted peppers and anchovies, gone in seconds. Fresh razor clams on ice too, bright and clean. Then the chefs pull the stuffed poussin straight out of the oven: roasted Jerusalem artichokes, a vibrant radicchio salad, carved poussin on top and a velvety sauce, served family style. Simple but absolutely stunning, and every element just works.

Desserts and drinks

The desserts keep pace: Basque cheesecake, a bergamot tiramisu with vermouth and Earl Grey, and pistachio soft serve with olive oil and sea salt. All the desserts, zero regrets. Finish with homemade limoncello and a couple of cocktails.

Who it is for

This is a group meal, built for sharing across the whole table. Come with people, order wide across the Spanish, French and Italian ends of the menu, and let the family-style plates do the work. Kødbyen has plenty of buzz, but Camour is where the food and drinks out-hit the vibe.

But now… the real question is… where do we go next?
