Home » Juma
This is the newest heavy hitter in Copenhagen's Indian food scene, and it goes by the name of Juma. On Ryesgade in Nørrebro, the star of the show is their modern Indian thali, where every bite is made to be mixed for layers of flavor. We were invited.
Juma sits on Ryesgade in Nørrebro, and it is modern Indian done with real style: bold flavors, beautiful plating and, importantly, serious value. The thali format is the heart of it, a spread built so you keep mixing and matching for new combinations.

We started with cucumber, spicy mint and fried curry leaves alongside a deep, flavorful dal, all about the balance with fresh roti. The melon chaat was bright, juicy and bursting with warm, fragrant spice. Then an all-time favorite, the butter chicken, finished with smoked butter, creamy, light and perfectly balanced. Grilled lamb hearts with pistachio, tender and elegant, with black garlic adding depth. Papadums with spicy tomato chutney and boondi raita topped with chili crunch. Smoky grilled paneer with sweet pineapple and charred zucchini, simple and so good. Of course you get butter naan and roti, torn by hand and topped with mango chutney or potato curry, plus rich turmeric-yellow rice. For heat, the homemade chili, not too spicy, just big in flavor.

Vanilla soft serve over mango with edible flowers, cool, creamy and beautiful, then warm gulab jamun in syrup with pistachio. And do not sleep on the cocktails: the Kele ka sepana, the Tita and the Espresso Chaitini, all packed with flavor and worth the visit on their own.

This is modern Indian done right: great for dinner dates, groups and cocktail lovers, with the kind of value that lets you order the full thali spread. The perfect place to hang.
But now… the real question is… where do we go next?
