Copenhagen does Japanese food properly, and it goes a long way past the supermarket sushi tray. We have sat at the counter at Kiko Izakaya, worked through bowls at Slurp Ramen and Ramen to Bíiru, eaten sushi at Umi Sushi and Restaurant Uma, and finished with mochi from Mochi Time in Torvehallerne.
These are the Japanese places we have filmed, spread across the City, Nørrebro and Frederiksberg. Some are quick counter stops, some are worth booking. If you want the full evening, go izakaya. If you have twenty minutes and want a proper bowl, go ramen.
