This feels like a little piece of Tuscany. Welcome to Il Magnifico at Jarmers Plads, a Tuscan hosteria serving traditional cooking with real passion. We were invited.
Il Magnifico sits near Jarmers Plads on the edge of the city center, and it commits fully to the Tuscan idea: rustic, honest, generous cooking, no shortcuts, and a proper Tuscan wine list to match. From the antipasti to the last glass, it feels like the real thing.

We started with the antipasto misto Toscano: lightly seared, wine-marinated beef, homemade focaccia and a rich, flavorful kale crostino. Then the Tuscan cold cuts, cured meats topped with grated cheese, their own imported salami and cinghiale, which is wild boar, and of course the silky-smooth lardo. Stuffed polenta next, full of gorgonzola and topped with their homemade ragù. The pici is made in-house, perfectly al dente, one plate all’arrabbiata with a proper spice that wakes up your taste buds, another with a silky, deeply meaty white ragù. Full-on flavor with beautiful texture.

You cannot have a Tuscan meal without Tuscan wine, so a rich glass of Chianti Classico alongside. Then homemade cantucci dipped in Vin Santo and a tiramisu-style dessert with mascarpone and hazelnut, with limoncello for the road.

This is a sit-down, take-your-time dinner, ideal for a date or a small group that wants to graze antipasti, split the pici and work through a bottle of Chianti. From the antipasti to the last glass, this felt like Tuscany done properly.
If you are craving Italian cooking with soul, this one is worth the booking.
But now… the real question is… where do we go next?
