This is one of the best pizzas in Copenhagen. Welcome to MaMeMi on Mysundegade in Vesterbro: Roman-style pizza, thin, crispy and completely in a league of its own. This kitchen is pumping out high-level Italian, and the antipasti spread alone is seriously impressive. We were invited.
MaMeMi sits on a quiet Vesterbro side street, and it punches far above what you expect from a neighborhood pizzeria. A team of pizza artists works the dough by hand, and behind it all is a wine cellar with thousands of bottles, all natural, all Italian. This is Rome by way of Copenhagen, and it takes both halves seriously.

Before the pizza, the antipasti carry the table. Beef tartare hand-cut with aged Piedmontese cheese. Silky vitello tonnato, thin veal under a tuna and caper sauce. Roman-style braised artichokes with mint and olive oil. Creamy stracciatella with tomatoes. Oxtail ragù finished with dark chocolate. Mozzarella foam with roasted, marinated sweet peppers. And an insane focaccia to mop up every last bit of flavor.

Then the pizza. The dough is stretched by hand straight into a screaming-hot oven, thin and crispy and out in minutes, then to the table without a second to spare. First up the Amatriciana: guanciale, Pecorino Romano and black pepper, a Roman classic where every single bite hits. Then the scarola, which happens to be vegan and is one to remember. For dessert, homemade tiramisu and a proper Roman crostata, plus homemade limoncello for the road.

For great pizza you need great wine, and this is where MaMeMi shows off: that cellar of thousands of natural Italian bottles means there is always the right glass for whatever you ordered.
Book a table and bring someone who shares, because the whole point here is to graze the antipasti, split the pizzas and work through a bottle. Full Roman style in the middle of Vesterbro, and it earns the trip.
But now… the real question is… where do we go next?
